Recently Mr Tony Sylvester - a new friend - asked me a few great questions about ties for a column he writes, and one of those questions were which 5 ties do I consider essential.
One of those ties would always be a Navy Grenadine, untipped and handrolled, from Drake’s London. It has depth, and substance, but is simple and quiet. It is the perfect tie for occasions that require a little more gravity and solemnity, and in Navy it is a great universal, working with a slew of different colours and weights of cloth.
