One of the great advantages of building a wardrobe, and a relationship, with a tailor is the ability to have your garments pressed, repaired and altered as time goes on. The DB pictured, made for me a year ago by W.W.Chan here in Hong Kong, has been altered to reflect the very slight change in shape I have gotten through a diet of too much work and too often smoking a cigar instead of eating lunch. Slimmed slightly through the hips and given extra waisting, the suit has a new lease of life, and is getting considered far more often when I look in my wardrobe. Here is hoping I continue to go down in weight and this suit needs more alteration - I need Alan shaped DB’s in my wardrobe!
